The final instalment of our buying signals series helps you to recognise the buying signals that are the reason for your clients to buy, and what you should do when you hear it.

What you need to hear

When you are in a meeting with a client you need to be consistently listening and interpreting what your client says. For example when your prospect client says something like:

  • ‘I’m not sure how to…’
  • ‘I’m struggling with…’
  • ‘I want to…’
  • ‘I don’t know how to…’

All these bullet points are subtle signals that tell you that there is something that is holding your client back, whether that be financial, lack of understanding or confidence.

What you can do

So what can you do if you hear this uncertain buying signals from your clients? The simple table below shows ways in which you can handle this buying signals.

‘I’ve been looking at your website’ ‘What did you hope to find on my website?’
‘I’m not sure how I would include my spirituality in my offers’ ‘How important is that to you?’

What you shouldn’t do!

Buying signals might be hard to identify, to begin with, but once you gain an understanding of what you need to look out for, it will become easier. Once you have grasped this concept, the worst thing you can do is ignore a Buying signal. If you don’t respond to a buying signal you cannot delve deeper into it, which means you will not understand the reason why they are buying from you. 


The non-verbal buying signal blog, the verbal buying signal blog and now this blog all contribute to the way in which you handle a client meeting. Buying signals allow you to understand your clients’ needs before they even realise it themselves.
